Origins
Janssen & Krop Vloerverwarming B.V., founded in 1994, formed the basis of what has become the larger world-wide JK® Group. The JK® Group, which sprung from the pioneering work of mechanical engineer Hendrikus Janssen, offers a bespoke underfloor heating solution for any location or project.
The impetus was the observation that in the early 90s many Dutch homeowners were transitioning from carpeting to more hygienic and easily maintainable floor finishes. This development was already known in new construction and many tile shops were responding to it, partially because new houses were being built with underfloor heating, which meant that the tiles were not only clean and practical, but also warm. Naturally, the tile industry wanted nothing more than to deliver all different kinds of tiles to homeowners with existing houses as well. Underfloor heating was almost a necessity to compensate for the cold and uncomfortable feeling of tiles. Thus began the JK® organisation’s journey!
Where we are now
We operate in more than 10 European countries and have been serving the Dutch and German markets for more than 20 years. Our unique installation method uses dustless grinding technology to quickly create precision grooves in the existing screed floor using a specially designed floor grinder. The heating pipe is laid into these grooves. Our UFH system is suitable for all brands of heating control systems and can also be easily combined with renewable heat sources.
Our team comprises over 100 skilled employees dedicated to delivering high-quality, in-ground underfloor heating systems for both residential and commercial buildings. Our patented JK floor grinder allows us to create precise grooves in existing screed floors, enabling the installation of heating pipes without the need to raise or remove subfloors.
