The JK Academy is an essential part of our organisation, considering the JK system is unique and must be installed following the specifications of each individual home. The system’s installation requires specific skills, such as working with the JK Floorgrinder and adjusting to ever-changing house layouts. Without proper training, errors and unsafe situations can arise, there is a lack of uniformity, and machines can acquire defects. The JK Academy ensures that every installer knows exactly how to install the JK system and how to handle the various tools and machines. This way we can guarantee that every JK system is installed according to our strict guidelines.
In order to further support all our staff in the various countries and regions where the JK system is on offer, the JK Academy was founded in 2021 as an e-learning platform. It is an online learning environment where all JK employees can learn and master the right tools, expertise and procedures.
The JK Academy functions as an ideal extension of our organisation. It enables us to hire talented employees, to improve their skills and to impart knowledge. It is a complete learning environment with its own look and feel and URL, built on the brain-based learning model, that focuses on repetition and variation. At present, the Academy consists of three modules that link to different categories of installers. The JK Academy is available in eight languages (Dutch, German, French, English, Polish, Italian, Danish and Turkish), such that each installer can learn in their own language with optimal retention of information. After they finish a module, the installers are tested and they receive a certificate as proof of their aptitude.
At the JK Academy each installer can learn at their own pace. Moreover, the knowledge required is the same for every installer, which leads to methodological uniformity across the world. The installers’ learning process is now standardised within JK, so that every installer, whether they work in Dublin, Copenhagen, London or Istanbul, has access to the right explanations and demonstrations.
