FERMACELL
Fermacell is a sturdy and durable building material that meets the increasingly stringent demands of the modern construction industry. This material consists of gypsum fibres mixed with paper fibres and water, and is widely used in construction. Fermacell gypsum fibre boards can be used as building material for walls, floors and ceilings. They offer fire resistance, sound and heat insulation, and are suitable for diverse applications, such as dry levelling, fire and moisture resistance.
Fermacell gypsum floor systems are crafted from the same material and with the same technology as Fermacell gypsum fibre boards and are mainly designed to be used as floating floors. The floor elements consist of two layers of 12.5 mm with an overlap of 50 mm (called shiplap) so that they can easily be joined together. The boards are milled on site and the JK® Flextube is inserted in the milled grooves.
The Fermacell floor system improves both the air and contact sound insulation as well as thermal performance. It is exceptionally suited to unequal floors that need dry levelling systems and is easy to install. In addition, the JK® Fermafloor system can be installed quicky and easily with no drying time or special materials. The light and easy-to-place floor elements can be provided directly with the in-ground underfloor heating system and the finishing layer. This makes the system well-suited to wooden floor constructions in different buildings.
Benefits of Fermacell in combination with underfloor heating
Fermacell is often used in combination with underfloor heating due to the favourable properties it offers for an efficient and comfortable heated floor. Integrating Fermacell with underfloor heating systems creates an ideal combination that offers various benefits:
Heat distribution: Fermacell has excellent heat-conducting properties, making it ideal to distribute heat evenly across the floor. This results in a pleasant and comfortable heat distribution in the room.
Insulation: Fermacell offers improved insulation against downward heat loss. This means that the heat from the underfloor heating is retained more efficiently, which results in lower energy consumption.
Sound absorption: Fermacell has good sound-absorbing properties that allow it to contribute to a quieter and more peaceful environment.
Safety: With its fire-resistant properties, Fermacell functions as a valuable protective barrier against fire and high temperatures, which strengthens the safety of the entire floor construction.
Durability: Fermacell is a durable building material that is composed of gypsum and paper fibres, which means it lasts a long time and is resistant against wear and deformation. This makes it ideal for long-lasting integration with underfloor heating systems.
In short, Fermacell combined with underfloor heating offers an efficient way to realise a comfortable and safely heated floor.
