Laminate has the appearance of a real parquet floor, but requires less maintenance than solid wood. A laminate floor consists of several layers: a plastic bottom layer, a carrier, a layer of printed decor and a plastic top layer. These layers are all made of MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) or HDF (High-Density Fibreboard) material.
Underfloor heating for laminate flooring
Laminate generally has good thermal conductivity, but this can vary depending on the type of laminate. Some types of laminate have a higher heat resistance than others. It is recommended to have a suitable subfloor with a maximum heat resistance of 0.1 installed before the laminate is laid, which will ensure that the laminate does not retain too much heat, and that the heat is distributed evenly without the floor being damaged.
